So here we are. What a strange place. The first couple of days I was so addled I missed the centre of the town altogether and convinced myself there was no centre. Only an endless, fractal structure of hotels and minimarkets and real estate shops and sex shops and clothes stalls and gameboy games stands and stands full of dodgy looking CDs and DVDs (Die Hard 4, anyone?).
But I can be forgiven for that, because the centre consists only of that structure, with a few casinos and kiddies’ playparks to break the fractal.
I’ll keep walking round and round, trying to make sense of this place, and maybe write a longer and more interesting post later. But now… food.
